What's worse than getting a bad massage? Having to pay for it.
I had another client who was complaining about a Massage Therapist who was not that great. And as I always say, what's worse than getting a bad massage? Having to pay for it. So once again I'll post about finding the right massage therapist for you.
First off, Do your research.
Did they go to school?
How many hours do they have under their belt?
Do they have references and more than one?
Do they have reviews from clients?
Do they have a web site, this one seems silly but someone who takes pride in what they do will most likely have a web site or work under a spa with one.
What kind of massage do they do? Does it match what your looking for? A sports massage therapist is not going to match a client who's looking to relax.
And last but not least, talk to them, do you feel at east talking to them on the phone or do you get a weird vibe?
As a massage therapist who's been working for about ten years now I can tell you I've had my share of bad massages and some which the massage was good but the therapist was lacking in social skills. It pretty much ruined the experience so make sure you feel comfortable with the therapist.
Massage is such a personal thing and connecting with your therapist is important. For most Massages you'll be getting undressed, having a stranger touch your body and even under sheets that can be kind of frighting. So getting a feel for who your going to see will set the stage in putting you somewhat at ease.
When you do decided to go see someone let them know what your needs are. A lot of massage therapist are intuitive but we can't always read your mind. If you have to go back to work and can't looked too frumpled then ask if they have a shower, an area were you can clean up a bit. A good therapist will make sure you don't have oil in your hair or on your face if you are headed back to work. Share any painful body areas like shoulders, neck etc. That way your therapist doesn't get into the massage and three fourths of the way figure out that your hips are so tight your going to need some stretching or extra work there and they can modify your massage to make sure any problem areas are taken care of. If you have a medical condition let them know about that too. I use hot stones in my massage and people with a high blood pressure condition who are having trouble keeping it under control would not be good candidates for this type of massage.
All in all the bottom line is that Massage is a very personal experience, feeling comfortable with your therapist and being a good match for each other is a must. My clients enjoy that I'm so laid back, that I'm skilled in what I do and versatile to fit what their needs are at the time of their visit. They also enjoy the down to earth personal experience and the way I offer so many extra services with out nickle and diming them. There are thousands of massage therapist out there and more than enough people to see each of us. So find the one that fits for you.

RAW FOOD CAKES
Among my friends and family I'm known for not only bringing tasty dishes to parties and get together s but mostly for my desserts. They have always pretty much been my specialty. About a year ago I made one of Russel James desserts, his pomegranate cheesecake to be specific. Of course it got rave reviews from everyone who had a piece. So then I started experimenting with other desserts that were raw and bringing them to parties. My friends and family became my test market much to their delight.
I really had no interest in selling my desserts but after the persistence of everyone who had tired mine and told me I need to offer these to the world I caved in. Divine Desserts in Dallas Texas was born.
There is nothing on the market like Divine Desserts. They are not only delicious but they are also gluten and dairy free as well as a low sugar alternative.
In other words, Divine Desserts are a healthy alternative that provide actual nutrition while tantalizing your taste buds!
So I'm still working out the details but get ready for the best thing since sliced bread, desserts you can enjoy with a flavor you can savor but not feel guilty about eating. No more need to eat stale over processed diet desserts that taste like cardboard. Now you can have your cake and eat it too.

Our first Raw Class
We had our first Raw Food Class! YA! It was a huge success and so much fun. The class was on "Raw Food Desserts, Cheesecake". Very yummy. Had a good turn out and a certain someone kept wanting to lick the bowls, we wont' name and names though!: )
We ended up making two cheesecakes, a strawberry and a tropical layered cheesecake. After covering the base recipe with everyone then I went into variations and how to change it up. I personally like the strawberry the most but some people liked the tropical. And next time I think we'll leave off the strawberries till last as they tend to freeze easy when chilling the cheesecake.
Everyone got to go home with a nice big sliced of both.
Our next RAW DESSERT Class is on the Aug 10th at 10am. Figure on being in class till noon were we will break for raw food lunch and dessert.
Class is 10.00 per person. Please RSVP your spot as space is limited.
